Thursday, November 16,2017 - Packing Hiatus

Well, I am all excited about the trip tomorrow.  I'm mostly packed what I can for now.  Tomorrow, I'm looking forward to eating at a nice restaurant with my mom.  I'm also going on a 2nd kind of ghost train tour.  Saturday is a big day of touring.  The Nights of Lights ceremony will begin at 4 PM.  I have $200 to spend on food, souvenirs, and museums.  Church at my old parish Sunday morning.

We are going to the city I lived in when in 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998.  I was 9, 10, and 11.   It's the oldest continuing city in the US and the oldest 2nd to a city in Alabama.  It's name is Saint Augustine, and it is on the eastern coast in Northeastern Florida.  It thrives on being located below the major city of Northeastern Florida, Jacksonville.  Saint Augustine was founded in 1565 by the Spanish, and it is a Spanish city, like how New Orleans is to French.  I actually lived in New Orleans, in the suburb across the bridge, age 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17.  New Orleans is like an island I thought but technically an isthmus.  New Orleans seems like one of the US's most valuable old cultures.  I probably won't run into any kids I know, but I will probably see an old best friend's parents after mass on Sunday.  When I lived there, I lived in the 2nd closest house to the downtown mark.  The house was about 90 or 95 years old.  It was a little one storied house with some fancy and cozy things inside, like how the carpeting had flowers.  There was still a little heater and a little air conditioner.

I bought a special outfit to wear when I tour on Saturday.  I'll walk around alone all day and meet up with my mom in the evening again.  I usually go to the Lightner Museum, Ripley's, and the Wax Museum.  Ripley's is fun.  The Lightner Museum is a normal museum, with old treasures, like children's toys, old dinnerware, etc.  There is a train tour.  I mostly want to walk around myself and buy a souvenir or so.  It's fun to see the people.  There are usually a lotta young people on Saint George Street now, like I know at night.  I'll probably eat pizza and ice cream.  There are other places, like the oldest store, the oldest house, and the oldest schoolhouse.  It mainly turns me on because it used to be my home in my formative years of puberty.

I just had dinner and am pretty much packed.  I'm hoping for a good trip.

All in all a good trip, but I feel like I'm getting older and can't change as much.  It used to seem more magical in ways.  Maybe, I just need to wait for my life to fall in line someday.

I did see the lights light up for Christmas for the first time this year.  It was a moving experience.
